Road Blockers !

I stay at the end of a narrow road.. its just about enough for 2 large vehicles to go through.
There is an apartment coming up at the beginning of this road. For the past 1 week, the trucks and lorries coming with material for this road, block the road. There is hardly 2 feet left for other vehicles to go. To top it all, they have dumped all their stones and mud onto the road.
I am not sure which authority I can complain to regarding this.
Anyone can help me out?

Hi Sowmya,

You r in India only aren't you. Then why make such a big fuss about it. Or is it that people of Bangalore really respect civic sense.

Here in Chennai such things are very common and nobody even bothers about that. After all it is for our tolerance that we Indians are famous for dear.

Sowmya...suggest you first speak to the site engineer/supervisor or the representative of the builder. Tell him/them politely that everybody has a right to use roads, free of obstructions. Give them a definite time frame for clearing the debris. If no action is taken after that date, repeat your request, this time on a written paper. Try to take their acknowledgement. If you still find you're being put to inconvenience, file that letter ( hopefully acknowledged earlier ) with the nearest police station! Get the SI to visit the place and have him speak to the builders politely. If no progress is made, get a lawyer to file a public interest litigation, after getting a few neighbours to sign your petition! This is a drastic step and can only be done on an collective basis. My two cents....there could be other possibilities...all the best to you!
PS: Could not make it to Bangalore last friday as it was a holiday and my official work would have gone for a toss. Am there this Thursday onwards and we can all meet up during the weekend, if conv. to you. I'm co-ord'g with Ferrari too on this issue!

Slightly off-topic. Chennai and Mumbai bloggers seem to have blogger meets much more frequently than folks in Bangalore. Or at least i dont get to know abt these meets. It would be nice if we try to setup blogger meetups here in Bangalore once in a while. Just an idea.

Sowmya, its just this. It is not their intention to block you or the other traffic. Its just happening to everyone, and they dont have an option. You ould do the samething, if you are building in that Road Corner.

Try to understand the guy who is putting a lot of money in building the house. He Hasnt done it on purpose. Tolerate and Forgive are two different words. Choose one !.

BTW - I did not build any house, just had this thought..
